The book of receipts is the turners companion to the Sacred Geometry coloring book. It lists the steps for how to generate all 88 unique patterns in the book on the MADE lathe, although the second addition includes patterns contributed by David Lindow for the Lindow Rose Engine.
This book is not universal and does not give recipes for generating these patterns on any rose engine, but can be used as a guide of sorts for deciphering pattern formulas and coming up with designs on your own lathe. ***In order to reproduce these patterns exactly as shown, you would need to have the same rosettes and set up.
This 8.5″ x 11″ book is made to order, so shipping times may vary depending on the workload at the print shop. It is spiral bound, double side printed on 60lb white paper, and comes with clear front and back covers.
** This listing is just for the book of the receipts, the Sacred Geometry coloring book is listed for sale separately.
Given COVID-19, I am ordering this book through the printer and having it delivered to my home for inspection before it will be available to send to you. This book will be available for $10 less once restrictions are lifted and it is safe to collect/inspect the book in person.
CONCEPT: In an effort to engage a more diverse group of individuals with the incredible designs the rose engine can generate, Brittany Cox approached Al Collins with the idea of a coloring book. Seeing that these patterns could be enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds, she seized on the opportunity of the coloring book boom and found her platform. In this highly accessible form, she hopes turners might take the opportunity to share these designs with others and their loved ones. The symmetry of the patterns drawn on paper to those turned on a box are made clear and the art form relatable to a broader audience. Al Collins and Brittany Cox hope this unique compilation will spark both inspiration and curiosity in equal measure.
