A one of a kind handmade bookmark. These are made on a rose engine or straightline machine and come in lacquered brass or nickel silver. The moveable guilloché medallion comes on a 12″ leather cord. Custom lengths are available.
Guilloché or engine turning is an engraving technique creating precise, intricate geometric patterns which are mechanically derived and machined into wood, plastic or engraved into metal products, with very fine finish and detail. The mystery in the final design lies in the illusion created by altering the orientation of repetitive cuts of a singular pattern. Each piece can take over an hour to make and often consists of over 100 individual cuts.
