So … I’ve been a little out of touch over the last few months since my return to Seattle. I basically caught my breath and hit the ground running.
I had a beautiful glimpse of the closing summer, hiking every chance I got, having a birthday (the big 29 – good lord I feel old), a visit from my dear friend Reg (who helped with the Harmon Estate and stayed behind!), tried a bit of antique faucet restoration, and worked for the Seattle Art Museum on one of their pieces featured in their current exhibition Pop Departures.
Meanwhile, I was also renovating my new workshop space… It has been quite the challenge, but very well worth it. I am so much looking forward to having the shop set up. I owe a huge debt of thanks to all of my friends and family who generously volunteered their time to help me.

The new space – as it was in the beginning….
There have been many alterations… including some demolition…adding a window for light, removing carpet/linoleum, painting, plumbing, putting in wood flooring, moulding, trim, a dyed and polished concrete floor….
Tomorrow is the start of the official move in! I worked all weekend getting the shop as ready as possible. So here it is… complete with a chalk board wall, and player piano music roll trim.
So tomorrow is going to be a long day. Wish me luck!

Dearest Brittany, So happy to see the before/after pictures….WHAT A CHANGE. I know you described this all to us, but “a picture is worth a thousand words” and YOU DONE GREAT. Can hardly wait to see it when you get all your “stuff'” moved in. Lv. Grandma and Grandpa

Thanks Dad! Yes – lots and lots of work. One contractor for the concrete because it was a job that I felt best done by a professional. I have a grade 1 slab – so my concrete has to “breathe”… but also be sealed.. quite a lot to ask for something durable too…

Thank you Astol! The shop is certainly going – still so much to do – but I’m hopeful it will be presentable by the end of the month – at least for blog photos.
